As the New Year approaches... Why not get better at something?

Good morning World,

I hope that you all had a fantastic Holiday Season!  I was fortunate enough to go by four different homes (all family) for Christmas.  Other than a huge drain on my gas tank (my mother lives 50 miles away from me) I greatly enjoyed the day.  On a high note, I was able to have my nephew with me all day and he met a whole side of his family for the first time!  Awesome, it was just awesome!

So I've been pondering over New Year's Eve and Day.  Will I go out of town, will I stay in with friends, will I say "the heck with it all" and stay home that night?  Well, I have not quite come to the answer to those questions, I have however, figured at least one thing out for the New Year.....I am going to get better at something this year

Don't get me wrong, I will rang in with the rest of The United States of America and put losing weight and exercising more on my list as well.  I mean, LA Fitness is making the come up off of me, so common sense says I'd better start frequenting the place more often.  But, in such a rocky economy and (admittedly) topsy turvy times, everybody should take the time to get better at something!  What makes you stand out as an individual, what is it that makes you happy, what would you do if you had more time to do it?  I find when I ask people these questions, it takes more than a few minutes for people to respond back.  The answers to the aforementioned questions should have less than a 10 second response!  Aren't these some of the most important questions that one should know about themselves?

So aim at getting better.....cause if you do not, nobody else will take the time to do it for you!

This Public Service Announcement has been brought to you by the word: Happy- cause that's what were supposed to be!

Merry Vacation...I mean Christmas!

Good morning World,

I hope that this day finds you all in good spirits.  If it does not, then maybe you should get a job where they give you over three weeks off during the Christmas season!  I know what your saying....."how is I, going to get a job that gives me all that time off?" (I accept that folk's English is not where its supposed to be these days ...not my reader's of course!).  Well, if you cannot obtain one of these jobs, then look to me and bask in some of my glory!

Besides going to the gym and doing a little more shopping, I have absolutely no agenda!  Please note, that I am not looking for an agenda as well.  That's right, NO- I don't want to help, assist, cooperate with, please, endure,  aid, support, back up....Anything or Anybody.  I just want to do whatever I please until I January 3rd 2012.

Merry Vacati......I mean Christmas...Very Merry Chriscation!

Top Ten General Rules that SHOULD Be Common Knowledge but sadly are not :(

Alright Alright Alright, it's Tuesday!,

Hello Everybody!  I enjoyed hearing all the great feedback from yesterday's posting.  Looks like the blog hit over 125 views yesterday!  Outstanding and thank you so much for reading.  As I ended yesterday post, I began wondering what today's post would be about.  The first thought that came to mind was "Please No Socks with Flip Flops".  While so true, I do not believe that a whole blog should be dedicated to this subject...however, it still should be mentioned!  So, instead of a whole blog on how I am against people (except for prisoners...those jail cells get drafty ...I hear) wearing socks with flip flops, I give you:

The Top Ten General Rules that Should Be Common Knowledge But Sadly are Not :(

10.  Unless were intimate, please stay at least two feet back from me

How about a "No Baby" Shower?

  Good Evening Everybody!

Today has certainly been a busy Monday.  Not that it was particularly unpleasant, just very busy.  I am asked over 100 questions a day (give about 50 questions more on really interesting lecture days).  By the end of the day, I am out of answers!  Even on things that I know I have the answers on...such as:  What's your date of birth?, What's your middle name?  Are you hungry?  How many siblings do you have? .  Even the simple answers become one big amalgamation of thoughts that spew out randomly in front of an unasuming audience.

On to today's topic:  How about giving me a "No Baby" Shower?  That's right, I said it!  Over the last year, all my closest friends have managed to have a baby or become pregnant.  Good good, congratulations, I really am (really I am) very happy to welcome a new member of my "family" into this world.  However, I have been ransacked for presents, time, food and patience!  #1 I am a man, and I should not be made to go to your baby shower!  I do however believe that I should most certainly give a gift.  If you must have a baby shower, can it be some place like at a restaraunt?  That way, I can eat, leave a gift and dip out before you all began playing those ridiculous baby games.

I believe that if someone reaches the age of 30 and they have not had a baby, then all their friends with babies should throw them a "Happy You Have No Baby Shower".  The way I look at is is that by the time you are 30, you have spent over 2 to 300 dollars on parties that you have not planned nor asked for.  Why not a little appreciation for the single and childless friends of yours?

***There are a few of you who may read this that I have rsvp'd for your shower, resisted your shower or that you plan on inviting me to your shower.  ....well, if you have enough leverage, I'll capitulate ( yes, Tina, I'll be there and I will smile about it), but aside from Tina.....you better have some leverage!

Now, where's my party?

Have a Great Evening Everybody!

I made it to 31....and am ready for what is being brought on!

Hello World,

It's great to be back with you all.  Since I have last blogged, a lot of wonderful things have taken place.  I had another successful year of volleyball coaching, I began playing on a volleyball league, and I made it through the summer and have started teaching high school once again.  This this year has been full of surprises.  I managed to get into an ESOL graduate program (in which I am currently earning all "A's")!  I am in my second class of the program and I can honestly say I am learning more than what I ever imagined.  I am grateful to have made the qualifications to get into this "all expenses paid" program.

This year I have seen almost all of my closest friends become pregnant.  At first this was a gradual transition, however it seems as though all of a sudden all four of my closest friends are pregnant at the moment!  I am very happy and excited for them!  They will be excellent parents.  ....however, this whole "all my friends having babies thing" only amplifies the fact that I am 31; and at 31, people are supposed to be getting married, married, and having babies! .........that or either making their way towards a goal (which is what I am doing!)

As I have been riding this Super Trolley I call life, I have checked in on my blog.  I have had over 1400 views, at least one view per day and am now in over 50 countries.  The world has become a lot smaller, cozier and warmer.  Opportunities are abound for those who want a change in life and the future and world is bright!  Because of the constant views, I have received many requests to pick up my blog.  So....after much debate....I am going for it again.

Please be on the look out for daily posts and feel free to send me ideas on topics of what you would like to hear about.  Cheers to a good 2011 and an even better 2012.

It's getting exciting y'all! Have a Merry Monday Eve

Tada

Just because I am a nice guy, doesn't mean I plan on taking the "L"!

Good Wednesday to you All,

The week is creeping along.....thank God!  As I meander through another day, I stop and take notice of the happenings.  I have old friends popping up to say "hello", new friends popping up to ask "what's going on" and prevaricators all around in the meanwhile.
Like the rap song goes....dust the dirt off your shoulders!  As I made it home unscathed (and tired after coaching track practice), I contemplate what I would blog about today.  In the middle of the shower (so fresh and so clean) I had the topic come to me....Just because I am a nice guy, doesn't mean I plan on taking the "L" (L= loss).

I am a firm believer in the Golden Rule.  This rule states that you should treat others the way you would like to be treated.  Simply put, if you violate this rule, I may not hold it against you, but I will definitely remember the occurrence.I put a great deal of effort into the Universe in order to strive to become a better person everyday.  In my strivations (yeah, I made that word up), I am beginning to understand that you may have to let people go in order to move on.  It's not that you do not love them anymore, its just that after awhile, you are either taken for granted or only called when your needed.
It's fine, my love for my friends won't diminish, however, the selfless acts that everyone is accustomed to, will be opened to more scrutiny as it relates to how often I dole them out.  In short....refer back to my topic for today!  For today, 30 means = guy is still nice, but just not as nice as before!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Today's Topic: I'm a slave to my cellphone...there, I said it!

Good afternoon World,

I hope everyone has safely made it through their Monday.  (For me) This week is going to be filled with great times and hard work.  The interesting part is, that I am not sure if I am ready for it.  ....however, just like The Fugees sang, "ready or not, here I come, you cant hide.".  There is nothing to do but grip it and rip it.  Batter up!

While I am going full speed ahead, I notice that I do this obsessive patting of my pants leg.  As I go down the hall at work, I pat my pants leg.  As I sit down for lunch, I pat my pants leg....as I leave the bathroom, I pat my pants leg (...okay that last one was just solely for the purposes of drying my hands).  What am I patting about for?  Simple, the answer is that I am doing a phone check.  That's right, I am making sure that my phone is on my person. All day long, I automatically check to make sure that I'm not without my hand held laptop.  The last thing I want to do is leave it!

Sad part is that I was born in 1980.  I did not get used to having a cell phone with me until 1999!  For a period of 19 years, if I were out, then I was out.  My answering machine let me know who missed me...when I arrived home.  Now... let me leave my house without my phone, bet I am going right back home to retrieve my precious!  ...Hmmm I wonder, if it is really that convenient if I can't live without it?

I'm just saying!

Have a Splendiferous Monday!

Things that were considered "lame" in high school now equals:

Good Sunday to you All,

I hope everyone is doing well.  This weekend has been great so far.  Down here in Atlanta, GA, mother nature has painted us a picturesque view of beauty to behold for the day.  I had a chance to see my Mother yesterday, I talked with several of my cousins and I hung out with one of my best-friends (and thusly some of my old friends as well).  It was great!  I really appreciated folks who I haven't seen in years and relished the joy I was able to help one of my best-friends ever usher in her birthday.

As I grew up with a number of my Jr. high school and High school friends, I thought about something.  We are all turning 30...ain't no more "being a lame".  I heard someone say "...oh man, such and such is just as lame as ever.".  Then we all laughed at the terminology of being "a lame".

Things that were considered "lame" in high school now equals:
  • Staying in on a Saturday night- not lame, you're just tired from a long week of work.
  • Listening to B 98.5 -That's not lame, they play the music we grew up with now!
  • Wearing solid colors- that's not lame, you just don't have to worry about matching
  • Not drinking until you get drunk- lame...I think not, you don't want to lose your license, which would make you lose your job!
  • Going to sleep by 10pm on a weeknight-That's not lame, that's smart sleep planning
  • Making it rain at the club - that's not lame, that's stupid, "do you know how hard I have to work for that money!".
  • Not wanting to drive- not lame..after all that driving you did through the workweek, why bother!?
  • Taking a nap - that's not lame, your pre- stocking up on sleep in order to make it through the week

All of a sudden, looks like what was lame is now just plain...GROWING UP!

Have an Oustanding Day!

Baked fried chicken IS NOT fried chicken!

Good evening World,

I hope everyone is on the up and up!  I would like to officially welcome Denmark and Japan to the reading flock.  Welcome!  On this Friday eve, I was wondering what in the world would I blog about today.  By the time I paid my 2.75 for lunch, I figured out exactly what I would talk about.

In an attempt to be health conscious, I tried the baked fried chicken.  Now, to be honest, the chicken looked really great.  It was golden brown, seemingly crispy and even aromatic.  I took my tray, I added fixings in each compartment.  There were mashed potatoes, collard greens, peaches, the baked fried chicken breast and an Arnold Palmer(sweet tea and lemonade mixed).  Oh yeah, lunch was set and I was ready to go in!  I sat down, I sanitized my hands and I picked up my prize piece of chicken.  I took a bite.

....next thing I know, I am grabbing for the Arnold Palmer and trying to drown my esophagus in order to flush the chicken down.  Ive been in deserts that contained more moisture than this chicken!  Each bite was a non crispy dried out catastrophe after the other.  I thought to myself...looked and smelled like fried chicken..then it must be (right?).  I got up immediately and asked the kitchen, "what's the deal with the chicken?".  My answer was "Oh baby, dis is baked fried chicken...its healthy.".  MORE LIKE IT WAS DISGUSTING!

Why torture avid chicken fans by not keeping it real?  I threw the uneaten plate away in disgust.  Hmmph!  If anyone ever offers you this baked fried chicken mess....run, run far far away Forrest!

Have a banging evening!

When did having a carpeted home go out of style!?

Good evening World,

I hope everyone is doing well.  We have an awful lot to be thankful for (you know, the living, breathing, seeing and thinking processes we are all able to execute).  As I sit on my couch after a very very long afternoon of track practice I began to feel like my muscles are tightening.  As a Coach, I know that means its time to stretch and get fluids into your system.  As a guy from Montgomery, Alabama, this means it is time to get off the couch and onto the floor.

Thanks goodness I have carpet or it would be a very very painful stretching process!  From these thoughts, I then think of how it is almost not modern to have carpet in your home.  At what age is it that adults began to think about the upkeep it takes to have carpet?  It seems as though when everyone starts out to buy a home (or lease an apartment) they look for a place with carpet.  The carpet is all new smelling, lavish and plush to the touch.  Then about two or three years later, everyone goes and yanks out their carpet and replaces it with "lovely" hardwood floors.

Sure, the hardwood floors are easier to clean.  Yeah, I get that.  But, what about the comfortability of lying on the floor or making a pallet on the floor and watching TV?  There is something to be said about stretching out on the floor of your home and not having to get up immediately because the cold, hard floor is dusty.  Is it that when you have kids, you keep the carpet and when you don't...you don't keep the carpet?  Or is it strictly an energy saver for some?

All I know is, this country boy, is sticking with the carpet!  That's right, keep your easily scratched and scuffed floors!  They are hard, less inviting and definitely less comfortable.  If the home is where you can relax, then carpet is where it is at.  ....except for in the bathrooms and the kitchen (cause cmon, Momma didn't raise no fool).

That's just my two bits people!

Have a Great Wednesday evening!

Watch and Observe!

Merry Merry Monday to you all!,

Whoa, was today a whopper!  I woke up at 4am (I am supposed to wake up at 545am), I hit the ground running at work, I covered for others, I attended a meeting AND coached my track team.  By the way, did I mention, we lifted weights and went on a 1.5 mile run!?  ....yup, me too!  I'm not even going to mention the shenanigan run I made after work!  If this were 1995, I would be in style if I referred to this Monday as a Head Bussa Monday!  As it is now 2011 and I still use that term...I'm suddenly reminded that..mmmmhmmm, I'm 30!

As I went through my hectic and yet enlightening day, I made myself proud.  There were so many instances where pockets of temptation (to do wrong) existed.  From frivolous complaining, to disobeying rules, to avoiding gossip, the day was jammed packed with holes of negativity.  I simply, watched and observed!  That's right, I decided that that was not the type of characteristics I wish to draw into my day.  Today, I understood that my plate of growth had absolutely no space for getting caught up!
Did the day kick my butt?  A little.  Do I have any pangs of conscience or anxiety over a bad decision today?  Nope!  Why?  Cause I simply watched and observed!

p.s.  when you do watch and observe, it's amazing how easy it is to learn and understand a lesson.

Today's Topic: There is an art to being able to just go with the flow

Good afternoon Everybody,

I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the day in some shape or form today.  I have friends in LA, friends working at their stores (big shouts to The Website Shop owned by Mr. Butler www.thewebsiteshop.net ), friends in the mountains for the weekends and a friend coming over.  In each of those stories, there are many sub stories and plots that weren't quite planned, but sure worked out really well.
The reason why it has worked out well is that my friends and I have learned that...sometimes, its okay to go with the flow.  When you are able to relinquish control of a situation or go with the "greater good consensus", you let others know that you respect them and trust them enough to follow an idea that is theirs.  It's not that you cannot come up with the better idea or that you are a follower.  The idea here is that you are a big enough man (or woman) to take someone's suggestion and let their light shine.
To be this type of person, takes time.  You have to know when to hold 'em and know when to go for the gusto!  ...In the long run, you will also find out that your friends will seek you and appreciate you more when you adopt the "go with the flow" attitude.  The art of being a "go with the flow" person usually takes a lifetime to figure out.  People get all stressed out over being in "control", when in actuality, you're always in some form of control....you just have to look at instances from a different point of view.

....PS...Going with the flow has sprang me Mexican food, good company and a great  night to look forward to!

Try it out sometimes

Today's Topic: Work hard.......PLAY HARD!

Forever Friday to Everyone,

Talk about a fly by week!  I woke up on Monday and it seems like I didn't get to sleep until Thursday.  I'm all smiles though because its been a great week.  It was not so much a great week, just because of the rapidity of the clock, but because the week was full of productivity!

Tests were taken, meetings were held, presentations were demonstrated, practice was executed and my personal life seems to have spiked up a bit. To boot, I've began Spring conditioning, so the losing the pounds gained from October through February is well under way.

So, what am I getting at?  I am getting at the balance of life.  Sure, I have been square edged throughout the week.  Sure, I've graded papers, called parents and have generally been "Mr. Responsible".  But now, ....now, it is the weekend!  My first thought was to just take it easy and have a restful night.  However, the truth be told...I did that all through the week.  It is now the weekend and that means it is time for the balance of PLAYING HARD when you have WORKED HARD!

That's right, I mean, all work and no play makes for a stressful and dull life.  If you have earnestly put the work in all week, then please do not for get to pat yourself on the back as a reward and PLAY HARD!  It's simple, cause you deserve it.  If you do not treat yourself well, then how can you expect for anyone else to do so either!?

Have a Great Friday.....PLAY HARD!

My monthly "Top Ten Things I've figured out now that I am 30." list !*!

Teflon Thursday to Everybody (let it slide right on off)!,

Good afternoon Everybody.  Today has been pretty hectic.  Maybe less hectic and a bit more disheveled.  There were pitches thrown my way and I made a hefty contact with each one.  All in all, I can safely call the day a success.  I hope it went the same for all of you.  Just think, tomorrow is Friday and for some of us that means a much needed rest.
For the sakes of good cheer and me starting a monthly "tradition" if you will, welcome:

The Top Ten Things I've figured out now that I am 30 list!

10.  Gas for your car is a legitimate bill that you should put money aside for each check
9.  A freezer without ice is a home "no no"
8.  Letting go of petty things are easy when you look at the consequences first
7.  My parents are starting to age!
6.  I do not like watermelon anymore (the aftertaste makes me nauseous)
5.  Antacids must be present before I eat : hot wings, hot sauce, tomato sauce, pizza, onion rings
4.  The Golden Rule still holds strong (it's my mantra)
3.  Watching the morning news is like reading the daily newspaper
2.  Music is not as well written today as it was when I was younger (I sound old just saying that)
1.  Patience is the name of the game....when to use it or lose it!

Have a Merry Friday Eve

Want to know who you really are....look at your friends!

Winging it Wednesday to Everybody!,
By everyone, I mean the world!  A HUGE WELCOME to my new readers in The Netherlands, Russia, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Indonesia, The Philippines, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Romania, United Arab Emirates and Morocco.  I am humbled and honored that you all have taken the time to check out my corner of the web.  And to all my U.S. fans....its not a day that goes by that I am not amazed by the encouraging responses.  The other day I hit 64 individuals reading my blog in one day (my highest count so far)!  Outstanding and THANK YOU!

After a toxy turvey weekend and an even more hectic Tuesday, I thought of a few subjects that would be awesome to discuss.  Our topic for today:  Want to know who you really are, then look to your friends!  That's right, its that simple.  Want to get to know someone, see who they hang out with.  My theory here is that you do not choose your family, but you definitely do choose your friends.

I am fortunate enough to have 5 of the best friends a guy could have in the world.  If you look to this group of five guys and 1 girl (Go G. go!) you'd see a great representation of me:  comical, industrious, charming, full of pranks and jokes, viciousness, sharp at the tongue and sharp of with, commanding and big hearted.  Now those are just my best of friends.

To really see the correlation, look at how their friends treat them!  If you see the person's friends (let's talk about someone not us!) frequently flake out on them, not return phone calls, never invite them anywhere or constantly bickering...beware!  There is a reason why someone is constantly getting the short end of the stick.  ....In short, you cant judge a book by its cover, but you can judge a person by their friends!

Remember, it takes you being a good friend to have a good friend.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday

Cupid's play day!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone,

Valentine's day at and around a high school is hilarious.  The students who are into the holiday wear red.  Those not into the holiday wear black or grey.  The little ladies are all dressed up and hoping that someone gives them something.  The young men are toting in bags, poems, candies, teddy bears and are all dressed up as well.
Oh the grandiose love gestures, oh how everyone is holding hands and talking about plans for the evening.  (I think at that age, the only plans for the evenings that they should have should be homework, chores and maybe 15 minutes of talking on the phone....about homework and chores!).  All in all, its a nauseous but sweet time to be had around the high school.
However, not to be out done, the teachers manage to show out as well.  Oh, the amount of delivery men, bouquets, candies and shimmery red shirts and pants could not be counted today!  Even the most stern of teachers (men and women) were being broken down by flattering texts, compliments and limos parked out front.  I hate to admit it, but the day wasn't so obnoxious as usual.
As for myself...no Valentine and that's OK.  Today, I believe I have learned to appreciate and be happy for those who are in love and share love.  It's way better to see than folks arguing and crying over pettiness.  In short, viva Love!

no bah humbug for me today!
ENJOY!!!!

I should put my body on an internal weekend alarm clock!

Good Sunday Everybody,

Over the past several years a disturbing trend has begun to happen.  I have been fortunate to work jobs that afford me having the weekends off.  This is great because I grew up the same exact way.  On Friday evenings, I would take plenty solace in knowing that I would be able to sleep in as long as I wanted to on Saturday mornings.  Not so much on Sundays, because I went to Church most Sunday mornings.  Between waking up at 8am for 930am Sunday school and staying all the way through for regular Sunday morning worship, Sundays were a wrap!  So, Saturday's were all my day.
However, on Saturday's I would wound up waking up early in order to beat my older brother Rico to the T.V./ Saturday morning cartoons (stay tuned for that topic in the future).  I was successful about 50% of the time on that endeavor, for my big brother was quite the early bird on his behalf as well.  It was from those habits that began me waking up (without an alarm clock) early even on the weekends.
The only thing not so cool about waking up now is that....I actually NEED to be sleep.  The only thing worth waking up at 545am in a Saturday and Sunday morning now, is waking up to go relieve oneself and taking my butt right back to sleep!  There are no more Saturday morning cartoons, no Mom or Dad's breakfast's or fights to be battled with my brother about rather we would be watching the Smurfs or the G.I. Joe shows.
Now when I wake up all extra early in the morning, I am only reminded of my body being a slave to the corporate time clock.  I now, mutter an expletive or two, began to clean the apartment and just give thanks that at least the dvr will have something entertaining waiting on me.....until I (get this part), pass back out around 9am and wake back up at 12pm!  GO FIGURE!!!! Aaaaaargh

Have an Outstanding Sunday Folks!

Big Shout Outs to Lajoi for moving back to the Atlanta!  Im excited...and I know Adrienne is as well!

Today's Topic: It's your ex...what makes you think I want to talk to them!?! ...and why are you still talking to them?

 Salutations Everybody,

This has been a rip roaring day. I mean, it started off great! I woke up in a good mood, go to work on time...and then, everything turned out not so cool. Commitments were broken, my job made the news, my colleagues are going through "it"....and now my personal life just hit a "whoopsie daisy".
Why is it that folks can't let their ex's go? I mean it, dagnabbit, why even attempt to start a new relationship if you're not even over the last one?  Then to make matters even worse, you try to tell me: oh, this is just my friend! No it's not! I mean y'all have done the horizontal bop...that ain't just friends. ... And, I definitely don't want to hangout and be friends!
Simply put, they are your ex for a reason. Remember the love...that's fine, however don't bring an ex into the new relationship arena...it's tacky, rude and inconsiderate!

Have a great Thursday...besides, at least someone should

Your dog did it, now pick it up! ...Oh and there is a conspiracy a brewing.

Terrific Tuesday to you All,

Hello Everybody!  I hope you all had a great day.  In this year of 2011, I'm finding it strange that Mondays feel more like Sundays and Tuesdays are the new Monday.  Let's not even talk about how the horoscopes have changed and really....I don't know what sign to follow!  Alls I'm saying is:  I'm noticing that there has been a shift in the air since 2011 started.  ....now for the real part!

See...ain't no owner in sight!

I've owned two dogs in my life.  One dog was a 100 pound Weimawaner and the other was a mid sized Labrador Retriever.  Both of these dogs poo'd like crazy!  Oh the times I've been in my own yard and have accidentally stepped in chocolate soft-serve.  The rank, abominable smell, that uncomfortable squish, that instant rage you feel as you take in the whole experience, is all nothing short of having a nervous breakdown!    It's all so traumatizing that it only has to happen to you once, before you "get it".  You have to pick your dog's poo up sometimes.
For those who do not have their own yard.  Go ahead and grab a plastic baggy and pick up your dog's poo.  The only thing worse than stepping in dog poo is when that dog does not belong to you and you step in the poo!  The only hot lunches I want to happen upon are the one's that aren't from the entrails of a canine.  So, don't be that guy, neighbor, chick or idiot....clean up after you dog Dawg!

This has been a public service announcement, brought to you by your friendly:  DO IT AGAIN AND SEE IF I WONT BE COMING FOR THAT .,,,, LATER society.

When did you start cussing (cursing)?

Monsterous Monday to you All,

Hello Everybody!  This Monday flew by!  I mean, it seems as though I was just taking a shower and packing a breakfast of an oatmeal raisin granola bar and yogurt for breakfast this morning.  It seems as though I was just teaching grammar and setting the class into debate teams and helping them to prepare a thorough debate.  All of a sudden I am on the sofa laughing at dvr'd Bernie Mac (R.I.P Mac Man).  ...then my laughter stopped.  All of sudden I recall when a student of mine told me " You doing too much! Shut the f*ck up Mr...".

Wait...first thing's first...how do you cuss out someone and still address them as "Mr"!?  I'm just saying. (Cuss or Curse words are bad words or swear words that are considered socially vulgar and riskee to use especially in the public)  Okay, back on subject (cough cough), it wasn't the physical cussing out itself that got me.  It was how hard she was cussing at such an age.  Sure, I was cussing in my freshman year, however I didn't dare cuss at Teacher.  Furthermore, it made me wonder how old was I when I began to cuss on a normal basis (not that I do so now...don't judge me!)?
I know of some instances where kids hear words and repeat it when they are younger.  Im not talking about you poor unsheltered semi abused souls.  Im talking about when did you really began to use cuss words on a regular basis?
I was in the 7th grade when I began to cuss in school.  I knew better to let an adult hear that language come out my mouth!  That being said, half the reason I used such language was because my friends spoke in such a way that cussing was practically necessary.  Not to mention, my favorite rap groups made cussing sound so righteous, that I had to be down as well ...b!tch (see)!  Now, dont go thinking I blame rap for me cussing.  I am just telling it how I recall the process.  I am still down with cussing (in appropriate settings only).  Either for emphasis or because it's the exact right word for the right time or situation.  The issue is when cussing becomes your first language!
Don't be that guy or girl!  Nobody wants to hear you out in public cussing all loud and belligerently.  If you do not have respect for yourself, please at least have respect for the others around you.

Have a Fantastic Evening...WYBA's!!! (take a guess!)

Cause sometimes you need to have a good time

Super Saturday Everybody,

Welp, it looks like I have fallen through the same routine of my Saturday life.  I wake up at my normal time (as if I am going to work), I curse my internal alarm clock and then I proceed to *bake* breakfast.  Now, that wouldnt be a terrible routine (I did catch some great stand up comedy) that was on the DVR and was laughing around 5am this morning. However, I went to sleep around 7am and woke up around 12pm.  Got to be more careful!
However, there came a point today that my friends and I couldv'e said..."we aint doing nothing".  That's the easy way to go.  But, sometimes, you have to be the friend to say, nope, we need to go out!  If only to keep ourselves sane and out of "real" trouble!  So tonight, it's Hookah and possibly going out someplace else night!  The first step to an adventure, is just the simple execution of a thought.  Sometimes, you just have to be the friend who is the motivation.  ....besides, think about it, don't you appreciate when a friend picks you up when youre down.  Takes a good friend, to be a good friend sometimes!

I hope everyone has a great evening!

Ain't nothing like a good quick week

Friggin Friday,

Hey Folks, hows it going?  I hope that all of you had just as great and quick of a week as I have had.  Some weeks are arduous and run at a grueling pace.  Some weeks, your manager hovers over your cubicle or you are made to fly out of town just to make someone else feel good about an "account".  Some weeks, you get written up, put on probation and get a flat tire...all in the same day!

However, this was not one of those weeks.  Between, track conditioning, students passing tests, good lunches, great friends and an accurate dvr, its been a great week.  Now, it's Friday evening and im thinking..."man, if my weekend is anything like my week, I'll be the Miggety Man!".

Get it in!

Just because I have a DVR, doesn't mean I stop watching the commercials!

Happy Friday Eve Everybody!,

I have been a proud DVR owner for over three years now.  Oh the shows I have recorded, deleted, paused, episodes I kept for keepsakes and the friends I have entertained....such, wonderful memories of past and present services rendered by this magic box.  One of the main perks to the dvr is fast forwarding though the commercials.  No listening to annoying ads, no waiting through agonizing minutes of nonsense before you find out if Agent Gibbs of NCIS was shot or was the bullet a miss.  Yes, the DVR has pretty much changed the whole way in which we watch TV.

But you see, that's the whole problem.  I began having a hard time focusing on one episode or even really enjoying some of my favorite TV shows.  I became puzzled as to the reason why I was fidgeting, not finishing shows, fast-forwarding through shows and robotically staring at a screen that once gave me so much joy.  After much thought and consideration, I narrowed the answer to one suspect:  I was missing out on the commercials!  Yup, seems that when I watch tv with commercials, I dont fidget, because I know there will be a break soon. I dont fast forward to hurry the show, because I dont worry about focusing too long...cause there will be a break.  Also...commercials add variety to the TV watching experiences and (partially) informs us of the latest "it" or "what's hot".  ...let's face it, every now and then, even I catch a funny (lol worthy) commercial.

So, I now say, ...let the commercials stay.  If you rush through all of life, you will forget the parts where you're supposed to relax!

Have a Great Evening!!

Back on Deck

Whew, it's Wednesday,

Welcome Folks!  Every now and then something eventful happens that throws you off track.  Sometimes its good and sometimes, not so much.  When its not so much, you take time to deal with the situation and then....you get Back On Deck.
Not just a little back on deck, but "all the way (in my Travis Porter voice) turnt up".  Track team started spring conditioning, my students did well on a difficult test and ...best of all, with the new conditioning, I will instantly drop a guaranteed 10lbs.  Go Tada Go!  To make things even better, I took advantage of a Comcastic deal and added on the internets (now I pay for it) for the same price I was paying for normal cable. .....Let's take it further...I just scored a ticket to the Kevin Hart meet and greet comedy show.  Oh yeah, im all about being Back on Deck!
So, now that im all aboard, back to the blogging as usual...and gripping and ripping life...even after 30!

Talk to you tomorrow World!

Today's Topic:....If you're not an optimist, you might as well give up now!

Word! It's Wednesday,

What Ho! Everybody!?  OK, forgive my springboard salutations. If you know me, you know that eventhough they were springboard, they were still very genuine (that's the type of guy I am). I find that at the times where I am at my lowest, I push even harder to put on not just a good face, but a happy one. I'm not sure where this strength comes from, but heavens to megatroid, I am very glad its in my possession.
Without (what seems like) my bottomless bag of optimism, it's certain that life would just be one uncool situation after the other. ...one long miserable, self depricating, androgenous state of being. Thanks to being an eternal optimist, my glass is ALWAYS half full. I stare through the grey and see straight to the clear blue skies of happiness.  The motto"it always gets better" most certainly comes to mind.
Why is my cup always running over? Think about it, what's the other option?....Exactly! They just aren't good enough.  Simply put: We think, therefore we are!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Today's Topic:  You will be missed!!

  Good Tuesday Everybody...
Actually, it's a Tough Tuesday folks. I lost a very close friend and even worse, my friends have lost a Mother. I will not began to tell the details, just understand the death was untimely and deeply saddening.
Oddly enough, an assignment I gave out today (it was in the lesson plans) was about what type of legacy do you want to lead (we just finished reading Beowolf). I haven't read any of the responses as of yet, as they were due at the end if class.  However, as such a terrible event has occurred, I'd like to be what Connie is to me and many other of my friends.....MISSED.
Enjoy the ones you love an appreciate them often...

Have a good evening!

Working with good folks makes the Monday better!

Good Monday Everybody!,

Here in America, our work week starts with Monday. Unfortunately (for the working) this doubles as the day where we do most of our moaning and groaning. However, for the last several Mondays, I've been most pleasantly surprised!
Ive been so surprised, that it made me wonder just how is it that my Monsterous Mondays have turned into Miraculous Mondays!?  The answer was easy...I happen to be fortunate enough to work with outstanding friends and people! One of my co workers has been one of my bestfriends for over ten years. The other's have been acquaintances or just folks you've grown to trust. Either way, by the time were done busting jokes....half the day has already run it's course!
All I have to say....what a difference your co workers can make!

Have a Great Monday!

Today's Topic: Naps...Mother Nature's curve ball

Good Sunday to you All!

First off I would like to welcome our Vietnamese readers, United Arab Emirates readers, our Germany readers and our Australian readers. I am excited and humbled to have you all read my blog!!

Welp Folks, it's 410am in Atlanta GA. Usually from the hours of around 11pm to 7am I am sleep (I grew up with parents in the military...now I wake up early everyday!). However today, I am wide awake! "Why" you might ask?  Because I took a three and a half hour nap around 10pm!
It was an accident! I was watching movies and hanging with friends and the next thing you know, I'm waking up at 10pm like it's 630pm!  This isn't the first time I've fallen victim to an impromptu state of unexpected rest.  The menacing nap has spoiled  me making birthday parties, weddings (no, not yours AC), hangout sessions with Mom, free club entry,...never anything bad have you! Never...oh I took a nap and I missed traffic or oh I took a nap now I'm in time for dinner!  Admittedly, I'm salty that I'm up now, but at least I don't have to work till Monday.
So yeah....Naps...Mother Nature's tricky little energizer...whether you wanted it or not!

Have a Fantastic Day!

Today's Topic:  Church's, Popeyes, KFC...Bojangles?

Merry Friday Eve!,

Today's Topic:  Church's, Popeyes, KFC...Bojangles?

How's it going Gang?  I have to confess today was long and arduous. Not so much my work day ( that absolutely flies by everyday), but the getting ready for work, the heaving boxes (we were moving internally to new rooms), the heaving of boxes for women (89% of the folks I work with), driving home and ...well, you get the picture. So, I said to myself "Self, how's about a fun blog today...something I've always have been outrageously and fondly passionate about...Fried Chicken"!

Here's how I would advise (if I were asked) about fast food fried chicken.

Church's: For the money, they can't be touched by the aforementioned food chains! Let's face it...on Tuesdays, they have a 2 piece special for 99 cents!! Also, their wings and honey butter biscuits stand strongly in their own. Church's uses a marinade that give the illusion of very greasy chicken...but as long as you keep plenty of napkins close by for the juice running down your fingers, face and elbows, you'll be in like Flynn! C+

Popeyes Chicken: Love that chicken from Popeye's! This is the quality brand. Always dependable ...if you go to one on the eastside of town, it'll taste the same on the westend! Only real issue is that Popeyes is less inclined to have price bargains. If you go there, take at least 8 bucks with you! Kudos to their wide array of sauces and their banging sides! Red beans and rice, green beans...dirty rice! On the low end, their biscuits are neglible. However..the chicken is right! A-

KFC: Home is wher the heart is. I say this because this brand is the closest to america's chicken! I prefer crispy to the original recipe. This brand is solid and tastey. Their biscuits are so light and fluffy, you could throw them up in the air and they could double as clouds! The Colonel got it right, however the officer's customer service and absorbident prices make for a lackluster eating experience. B. (ps...that all meat sandwich (double down)is Scary!!)

Bojangles!: I said it! It may not be well known, but they definitely KNOW chicken! From their greaseless chicken sprangs sweet potato pie, wonderful biscuits, heaping sides and yes people....great prices! If you haven't tried this place yet...youre doing yourself an injustice! A!

What gets an A+ you ask?:...my Aunt Wilma's and Aunt Rosalia's homemade batch!

You've been informed!! Have a great Thursday night y'all!

Shout out to Beth!! It was great hearing from you today!

"Say it wichya chest!"

Today's Topic: "Say it wichya chest!"

Good Wednesday Everybody,

It's been a whopper of a day for me! I taught from bell to bell (like usual), I attended four meetings, I've made pertinent phone calls, redeemed my checkcard's rewards and finally made it home. I hungout with a Homie and afterwards I was left sitting in my plush leather recliner (fitted just right by me).
With all the possible rejections and no's I couldve received today...with all the low and tiresome feelings I couldve suffered I thought:  .... Sometimes, you have to look everything and everybody up and down and "Say it with your chest!" (coined by one of my favorite comedians Kevin Hart). Literally it means to tell someone something, like you REALLY REALLY mean it!  Sometimes if you don't use your big boy/girl voice, people take you for a Foogazey (coined in the movie Donnie Brascoe). Forgettaboutit!

At any rate, Cheers to a peaceful and restful Hump Day!

PS...Viewings thumbs up to lastnights NCIS and The Syfy channel's attempt to be cool with their show Being Human!

.....And it's a four day work week!

Salutaciones Everybody!,
First, I'd like to welcome Russia to my blog! I'm always excited to see my blog reach new parts of the world!
Here in Atlanta, Ga. it was business as usual. I began teaching, my students began learning and suddenly all was right. I thought to myself, hmmph, not a bad day for a "Monday"!  ...But wait, it's Tuesaday!  Matter fact tomorrow is Thursday and that's pretty much the home stretch to the weekend!
January has turned out to be quite the sweet month! That beings said, I do want to take a brief moment to recognize the reason for the short week and so much more...Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Thank you Dr. King.
Now that our week has been reduced to three days (I can't honestly count Friday as work...it's just a feeling ;) ) ..let that notion be your motivator to make it through the week. ...besides, to complain about a four day work week is just plain lazy!!!

Have a Banging Tuesday Everybody!

Sometimes the unexpected was really expected for us!

Super Sunday Everybody!
Well, the snow is finally slush and the thawing of the ATL is underway. With this thaw has come the normal hustle and bustle of life: grocery store runs, fast food fixings, church, clubs (not sure if those two shouldve been back to back...but OK), hanging with friends...but then Whammmo, life happens!
In an instant, a decision has had to be made....an action must be taken, another person has to be considered.  Depending on one's actions we can choose to be part of the problem or serenity to a solution!  In my life it's been proven more and more, that when you act selflessly, what's meant for you happens.
I know it's a vague concept, but ...how about we truncate things down a bit...we can't always predict what's to happen, sometimes just riding the ride ( of life) will get you where you need yo go!

See you all on Monday!

It's OK to let the good times roll... Even past 30!!

It's okay to let the good times roll!!

Cheerio Everybody!,

I bring you well wishes and greatful thoughts on this the day between Friday and Sunday!  Last night, I had the great pleasure of meeting up with some old (but great) friends. Years had gone by and we pretty much picked up right where we left off...and where did we leave off?  We all left off in a world of carefree reckless abandonment and got toasty! At first I thought, man, I am 30 years old, I shouldn't party so hard. But as I surveyed  my friends (and now hardcore party mates) I noticed most of them were over 30 and were raging like the champs we were 5 years ago!
Only difference now...we just don't rebound as fast as we used too!  This morning was definitely slow motion until I got to the first powerade...and taking the Browns to the Superbowl (tmi?).
So bring on the party, I'm still down...just allow me the next half of the day to get myself together!

Go Falcons!!!!

Everybody really is working for the weekend...almost?

Everybody really is working for the weekend...almost?

TGIF Everybody,

If you're reading my blog, you're more than likely old enough to remember the song 'Everybody's working for the weekend' (youngsters...go YouTube it >sigh<).   I heard this song earlier today and the truth of the song pierced me right in the thought processor. If you are a "9 to 5" or even a "12 to 9" Monday through Friday shifter, literally through life, you are working for the weekend!
We get up early in the morning, 5 times a week and we throw all our gutts at life, just in order to make it to Friday evening.  Sure it makes those two (deservedly) restfull days sweet, but does that have to be life for the next 20 to 25 years (and that's with smart planning)?  Is that OK?
Thankfully, the human spirit is strong and ever full of hope for better and less hectic times!  Even more thanks for friends, relationships and dare I say the "F" word...."Family"!  Also thanks to mother nature for providing us with tools to cope ;) .
So... we forget the constant grind of life and allow ourselves to indulge in life pursuits, in order to go thither and obtain goals. Is that life? Unh uh, no way, that's wayyy too deep of a question for a Friday. Besides, we didn't just do 5 days of work for nothing!!!

Grip it and Rip for it's Finally Friday!!

Cabin Fever...more like stress reliever!

Tremendous Thursday to you all!  So ladies and gentlemen it's official - My snowcation has lasted for 5 days. While I've had an outstanding time...wait, I won't go back to work until Tuesday!!! It's sick, but ...I'll take the vacation.
Today's Topic:  To live in a world of 24 hour entertainment...  By being snowed in, I have become very thankful for all the entertainment that is available to me. From SHOtime, to On Demand, my dvr, me NOT watching all the most current movies online, online spades, Tap Tap revenge4 (so addictive), watching cars spin out in front of my apt, talking on the phone, my Iphone, the blockbuster box in front of th QT that I've been walking to for fun and my bad habit.....baking brownies and crushing them up in a bowl of ice vanilla ice cream, it's been a week of near hedonism!
Dear Weather...please melt the snow, before cabin fever officially takes over and I decide to never ever ever ever ever leave the apartment!!

P.S. - shout out to Drew W.!  You're my boy Blue! (that was in no way forced or cohersed) :)

Can you be the one who ends a relationship and still be considered to be a good person?

Is there a way to break up and still be considered a good guy?

Good Wednesday to you all! I'm still cabin fevered here in Tucker, trying to enjoy my snowcation. I ventured out to the grocery store, the gas station, then directly back home. It's still pretty treacherous out on the roads and sidewalks here.   While walking, a question popped into my head: Can you be a good guy AND be the one who ends a relationship?
My first answer (naturally) was, "yes". But, I consider myself to be a good guy and I'll be damned if I ever broke it off and I felt like a good guy or was called one either!!!  Oh I've tried being honest (leads to crying and then passive resentment), I've tried the it's me and not you bit (ironically it was me being honest again....but that leads to being called a liar and a coward), I've tried not returning phone calls (don't do it, they go psycho!!!), I've even tried the "were not compatible bit" (only problem there is that we were..I just didn't care for a few if your ways).
So let me get this straight, telling someone that you'd just rather be friends an that's it...makes you an "@ss hole"?!?  If, that's the case I might as well be a jerk anyways and call it how it is: "you gave it up to quickly" (I've lost 79% interest), "you got caught lying"(and you didn't even have to lie..and now I don't wan to address it), "you weren't who you said you were online" (go back and read the d@mn profile description and try coming back as that), "I hate having to kiss you on a regular basis" (do you even brush your teeth?), "you didn't tell me about the four kids part and we've been kicking it for months!".
Now, wouldn't you'd rather have the jerk back?  Good grief!

Have a kicking Hump Day!

What would you do with the money you spend on gas in a lifetime?

What would you do with all the money you spen on gas in a lifetime? Good day Everybody!,   Oh and by everybody I mean a whopping "welcome" to Malaysia, Morocco, Indonesia, Romania and Mexico! A mis amigos latinos, yo hablo espanol tambien! Creo que todos los humanos necesitan conocer mas de solo uno idioma!
Now...on with the blog! It shall baffle and delight you all to know that my Mom will be reading today's blog. My first thought was, "my college English teaching mother will grill me over all grammatical errors" and then I thought, "will I still be able to keep it real with my audience and be OK with my Mom taking a looksie at my blog?".  In short, I just turned 30 and while I certainly respect my Mom (I still say yes mam and no mam), it's my blog and I owe it to you all worldwide to keep things as lively and a raucous as before!
Today's Topic: What would I or could I do with the amount of money I have spent on gas in a lifetime? According to popular sources the average American spends 2,384 dollars a year on oil and gas for their vehicle! Let's say the average lifespan these days are around 70 years of age (I'm African American ...so give or take 10 or 15 years depending....).  I'm no math teacher, but I know 70 x 2,384 is 166,880 dollars! That's 166,880 dollars that you have nothing bit riding memories to show for it...wait, nothing tangible to show for it!  All this water in the world and we have to use gas in order to move cars?!? Good grief! With an extra 166,880 dollars every American in the US could easily buy and pay off a semi modest home! Could you imagine if everyone in your county had their own home? Or how about every child could afford a moderate college education!?!  But instead we have to go to BP, Shell, QT (love the friendly QT staff though), Aamco, Chevron and pay them for something that we know we will have to pay them again for shortly in the future! Gimmie my d@mn house and free college education! If not, could I at least get a frigging half off coupon!? Couldn't the had staions at least have an internal lotto of free gas prizes?!? They don't even try. But, but, I digress.

Question to you all: What would you do with an extra 166,880 dollars? Have an excellent Tuesday! To have my blog sent to your email address, a fan at:  http://30yotada.blogspot.com

Miraculous Monday!!!

Miraculous Monday!

Welcome to my UK and Indonesian readers!! ...Today, here in Atlanta, Georgia, the place is covered in snow .
To boot, I found out earlier today that covered in snow means NO WORK until Wednesday!! Yeah, I'm down with that! You're most definitely not going to hear me complain about two cable filled, comfort food eating, online spading debauchery days that could only be had by not being able to drive or go anywhere.
I did however get the chance to walk to the QT around the corner from me. It's not that the wind was whipping, it was just that the overwhelming amounts of ice and snow made simple walking treacherous. I watched car after truck after car get stuck, spin out or simply slide over a thick sheet of ice that covered the streets out and around my complex. This walk reaffirmed my notion of not venturing out to drive! Kudos to QT for having plenty of pet food and snacks to hold me over to warmer times!

Have a great evening!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it.....get me a day off!

Cheers Everybody!,

I'd just like to send a special shout out to my readers in Canada, The Phillipines and India! Thanks so much for reading (and ofcourse big ups to my American comrades)! Well, wherever you are at, I hope that you all fall under what I'm under tonight: the hope that it will snow hard enough to get me the Monday off.
Oh if dancing could make the snow fall, I'd be reeboking,Roger rabitting, running manning, kid and playing, typewriting, prepping, whopping, dougeying, swagg surfing, jerking (the dance you pervs),snakeing (again the dance!),cabbage patching, rag topping, eastlake meadowing, tickingest brother you've ever seen tonight!
And to those who have to work tomorrow...I hope your Monday flies by! D@mn Mondays! That could be a whole nother posting!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Take out or Delivery?

Merry Saturday Everybody,

Wow, talk about a slamming carefree day! ...Or at least I hope you all are having one as well too. Let's get down to it. Around 11am (due to various reasons) I begin to look around for lunch. Opposite popular beliefs, I actually have plenty of food in the refridge and snackies in the cupboard. However, what I did not have was crab rangoon, fried wontons or tres leche cake.
I had it in mind to order the Chinese food and forgo the cake (see where laziness gets you). However when did it become customary for the restaraunts to charge a delivery fee?!? I could see if that delivery fee went to the driver or towards the tip...but oh no, unh uh, that ain't and isn't (yeah I said it) the case! So let's break this down a bit...earlier thus week I ordered a 10.00 dollar pepperoni pizza from The Hut place. After taxes and fees the pizza was 13.00 dollars (which is three Ceasars and breadsticks with marinara). Then I felt obligated to tip my driver (four his four miles of driving) 4.00. So for a 10.00 pizza I'm out 17.00. That's ridiculous!!! ...Same deal for the Chinese delivery. There was a 10.00 minimum for orders within three miles and 15.00 dollars for orders 5 miles out.
After thinking about possibly being had again, I manned up, ordered TAKE OUT and sprang for the tres leche cake (the groceria is located in the same plaza). I spent 10.85 after everything was said and done! That beats the mandatory 7 to 8 bucks worth of general purpose fees I would have incurred had I taken the easy way out.
So what am I saying...? I'm saying, best go live in a place that has an abundance of convenient shops, shoppes, restaraunts, liquor stores, pizza shacks, chicken joints and gas stations or get used to general purpose fees!
Oh and a quick not about the weekeend *Suprise! I was surprised by a hot admirer, *Surpise, I git free SHOWtime for three months and afterwards for only 10.00 duckies afterwards and *Surprise! I talked with an old friend today an that was every bit of alright (T.A ;)
P.S. - Today I checked the stats and my blog has over 100 views!!! Not bad for a fee days back at the reigns! Thanks for reading and if you like it, please become a follower by clicking the link!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Surprise!

Surprise!

After a week that seemed to be shorter than my daily lunch hour, it is Friday!  I have been so into the week where I have practically forgotten that today after work means I get to rest for the weekend.  Then when I think through things further, I may even get a three or four day weekend.  In short "let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"!  That's right, inclimate weather for you you, means no work for meezey (me).
Oh and how about the word for the weekend is "Surprise"!  As in I hope I am "surprised" by having a three or four day weekend, I hope I am "surprised" by a hot admirer, I hope one of my friends stops by with a shareable "surprise" and there is always "surprise" ....you done won the lotto (the surprise I am always constantly hoping and waiting for).

I hope all of you have a good "surprise" having Friday!!!

"I'm gone call you back"

Hello Folks!,
Today's topic is...."okay sure, I'll call you back!". How often have you said it (and really meant it?) but you just never called that person back? It's not that you don't want to talk to them, (for me) it's more that when so much time goes past, it seems like I have "timed out" on my window of opportunity to call. Then, there is the whole, having to listen to what a bad friend you are for taking the time to call! So why in the heck would you even return the call!?
Here's a tip, give folks a break when returning a call or set a time expectation that allows for a bit of flexibility. I bet you will receive
a lot more callbacks in the future.
Now, just because I think it's cool, here are the Top 7 reasons why in some cases you will never get a callback:
7. I didn't pay my phone bill
6. No message, no callback
5.I was having relations and never even noticed that you called...repeat for the next two hours and I cut the phone off anyways
4. I already ignored the first three calls, take the hint!
3. Sorry, it was just a one nightstand
2....cause it took me a month to get rid of you and what you gave me the last time we hooked up!
And the number one reason:1)- cause I ain't got no damn money to lend you!

Have a Great Thursday!

Forreal forreal????

Its the new year (2011), which supposedly means its time for a new attitude, a new lease on life and attacking the normal in an abnormal type of way (apparently its the time that you say the same thing three different ways in a sentence as well!!!). That being said, why is it that ex's or past significant others try to rekindle around the new year? I mean really it just seems trite or contrived or not genuine (if I called it fake, then it would seem to be malicious). I dont think the intent of the ex's and past significant's are to be mean and cause a disruptance.... I just think they run to what is comfortable during this "season of needed companionship".
Really, you wouldn't think I would become upset about this. I mean its kinda like getting a second chance with someone, but the problem is that I cant help but feel like a rebound or like a "space taker" until someone new comes around. The sad part is that I really really liked one of the individuals, but my stupid PRIDE, says, "oh noooo Tada, don't you fall for it, don't you be weak and let these folks sneak their way back into your life".
But.....(cause there is always a flip side) what if it is the individual finally "getting it right" for the new year? I mean what if the individual (now possible perspective dater) has decided to get it together? I mean, what if it is them finally coming to their senses and going for what they should have gone for in the previous year(s)? Should you give them a chance or should you let your pride, keep you from going down the road already traveled? No point in punishing the person who learned their lesson right? And if you liked them before and you still like them now, are you doing yourself a disservice by letting your pride get in the way?
Well, for now I am going to continue to try to play it smooth. To be honest, I am still in the ....try to find the ulterior motive phase. ....In short, dont be getting all lonely around the end and beginning of the year and then want to holler cause you dont have anybody. How about you holler because you have a genuine interest (in me) and you want to start off on the right foot?

P.S. - Oh and if anyone can give me any ideas on how to tell if the person is genuine or just phishing for company...please do tell!

PPS- if you're reading this and you fall under the category....it is what it is...(about five folks are doing this now!)
